Armstrong has been creating boat products since 1984, specializing in outboard engine brackets.

We are looking for an experienced MIG Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience with welding aluminum and other metals as needed using a variety of physical positions to accomplish the welds. Using a chain hoist, lifting heavy objects, cutting and bending metal, and using proper safety equipment will be required. Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints and perform visual quality inspections of the welds. The successful candidate will be able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team, keep the work space clean and orderly, and be detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills. We are looking for someone who is safety conscious and can work in a fast-paced environment. Pay rate will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Mig weld aluminum pipe, sheet metal, and formed components according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Maintain the highest quality in every weld – each weld must be able to pass a visual quality inspection.
  • Build and assemble products utilizing various jigs, tools, and equipment.
  • Use appropriate safety equipment when welding.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow safety protocols when working with hazardous materials.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with MIG welding aluminum of a variety of thicknesses and shapes, using a variety of physical positions to accomplish them
  • Previous experience as a welder/fabricator
  • Must be able to work 8 hour shifts and keep up with expected production pace
  • Familiarity with welding equipment features and what to use in different situations
